The PoC (Proof of Concept) Instrument is one of the initiatives included in the agreement signed by Compagnia di San Paolo and 5 Italian universities (Politecnico di Torino, Università degli Studi di Torino, Università del Piemonte Orientale, Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II and Università degli Studi di Genova) for the three year period 2019-2021.
The aim is to support the development of patented technologies or software owned by universities, taking them from an initial development level to a more mature one in order to attract industrial interest. In this way the technological risk will be mitigated, also increasing the potential for subsequent commercial exploitation and fostering the establishment of spin-off companies.
By submitting an application to the PoC call, people from the involved universities will have the chance to receive grants for the development of prototypes or demonstrators.
The call is restricted to the five universities that signed the agreement with Compagnia di San Paolo and will unfold over five cut-off dates for the submission of applications.
