The EU IoF2020 (IoT Large Scale Pilot) project has entered its final phase, organizing its final event on 16, 17 and 18 March 2021 to present the results obtained in the field of smart farming, working in more than 30 use cases envisaged by the project.
LINKS participated in the project with aree IoT and Pervasive Technologies and International Trends & Opportunities Research Areas and, more specifically, LINKS have supported the development of the Use Case Pig Farm Management. In this context, LINKS has collaborated with ILVO (Use Case coordinator), Evonik Porphyrio, Vion e ZLTO to develop a system aiming to optimize the management of pork production, integrating sensors installed in farms to monitor animals’ health and exploiting data collected in slaughterhouses.
Among the solutions developed by the Use Case, in particular, LINKS worked on the development of an IoT platform to integrate and make interoperable heterogeneous smart sensors and legacy systems, present in farms, to monitor and optimize existing breeding techniques. This system has been tested in five pig farms located in the Netherlands.
You can find here a video, in which the ILVO researcher Chari Vandenbussche presents the results obtained by IoF2020 partners involved in Pig Farm Management Use Case.
