Francesco Sottile, from the IoT&PerT Research Area and technical coordinator of the EU MONICA project, is attending the IoT Week conference where he will present some results of the project and collaborate with other partners to showcasing some demos based on wearables.
IoT Week is a one-of-a-kind conference where leaders from the worlds of business, tech and science shed light on the future of technology and its impact on business and life. It is an annual event organized by the IoT Forum since 2011. The 2019 edition will be held in Aarhus, Denmark, from 17th to 21st June.
During the event, the participants of the conference will have the opportunity to try the wristbands realized by the MONICA project. Usually these are mainly used for crowd monitoring at big and outdoor events but, at the IoT Week, it will be possible to explore a few other features such as connecting with other wristband wearers, getting alerts when key activities start, and voting at selected sessions.
Furthermore, during the week, the MONICA team will hold the session “MONICA Solutions for Event Organisers: The use of IoT to manage Sound and Security at Open-Air, Cultural and Sporting Events” about the general results from the project, the use of wearables at a large scale, IoT data for situational awareness and adaptive sound cancellation for outdoor concerts.
