The UN Global Assessment Report on Disaster Risk Reduction (GAR) is the flagship report of the United Nations on worldwide efforts to reduce disaster risk, it is published every two years by the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR), and is the product of the contributions of nations, public and private disaster risk-related science and research, amongst others.
LINKS has matured strong competences in the use of Big Data, Artificial Intelligence for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) through the coordination of important EU funded projects FLOODIS and I-REACT, which focused on the use of advanced cyber technologies and crowdsourcing approaches for DRR. Our researcher Claudio Rossi was the technical lead of both the FLOODIS and the I-REACT project and he is among the authors of the Report for the 2019.
