Within the scope of MONSOON – a EU funded project focused on the adoption of IoT and big data analytics in sustainable process industry and coordinated by ISMB – our researchers are organizing a workshop along with MONSOON Consortium partners and three other SPIRE-02-2016 projects i.e., Fudipo, CoPro and COCOP.
The workshop is entitled “Digitized Operations for Sustainable Process Industries” and will be held on October 18th in DECHEMA premises, Frankfurt (Germany).
The objective of the workshop is to present the EU perspective on digital operations in process industries and to focus on plant-wide monitoring and control of data-intensive processes i.e., the scope of SPIRE-02-2016 projects.
First, Dr. Martin Winter (A.SPIRE – chair of SPIRE Digital Working group) and Chris Decubber (EFFRA – Technical Director) will present the EU vision on digitization in sustainable process industries. The four projects will then introduce their vision and first outcomes, through technical presentations and a poster session. Finally, a panel with representatives from EU initiatives, industry and research, will discuss the barriers and next steps toward full digitization of process operations.
The event will end with the Process Industry Aperitif offering a pleasant workshop conclusion and facilitating informal networking.
