La nostra missione è rafforzare l'interazione fra ricerca e mondo delle imprese e finalizzarla all'internazionalizzazione del sistema socioeconomico locale. Intendiamo promuovere, condurre e potenziare i processi di innovazione e i progetti di ricerca, migliorando l'implementazione di prodotto e lo studio di nuovi approcci e modelli. Riteniamo necessario instaurare un dialogo con il tessuto imprenditoriale nell'ottica di implementare il trasferimento tecnologico che consenta di diffondere e condividere conoscenze e competenze, al fine di iniettare tempestivamente nel mercato le idee che emergono dal mondo della ricerca.

LINKS, per raggiungere i propri obiettivi, raccoglie l’esperienza e le competenze delle Persone degli Istituti ISMB e SITI che negli ultimi 15 anni hanno raggiunto importanti risultati, posizionandosi in evidenza nella comunità scientifica e dell’innovazione.

Circa 180 Persone, pronte ad accettare le sfide che LINKS pone e desiderose di far parte di questo nuovo progetto che nasce e cresce come centro di eccellenza. LINKS mette in collaborazione Persone con formazione e conoscenze differenti consentendo lo sviluppo di studi e di applicazioni innovative e multidisciplinari. Le competenze si intrecciano sui temi delle nuove tecnologie, dell’ambiente e del territorio, sulla base di esperienze complementari sia sui processi di innovazione sia sull’applicazione di questi in diversi ambiti.

Biografia

Andrea Alunni joined LINKS in September 2016 as Chairman, bringing more than 20 years of proof-of-concept and finance for progressing technology spin-outs experience to his role with the company. For almost a decade Andrea was the Head of New Venture Support and Funding at the University of Oxford where he assisted the Oxford University Innovation senior management team to deal with the creation of new startups across all University's research subjects, managing proof-of-concept funds , fundraising activity for seed funding, interfacing the financial community, running the Oxford Angels Network, deploying seed investments and monitoring start-ups' activity at Board level to achieve growth.

Prominent work done by Andrea in previous roles includes coaching talented CEOs and top managers of Oxford University's business ventures to lead a successful startup. He was also Member of the Oxford Impact Acceleration Account, the Technology Fund Panel of the Engineering and Physical Science Research Council (EPSRC) in the UK. As an electronics engineer by background (Italy-1990 Cum Laude), Andrea gained an MSc in Strasbourg (France-1994) in the field of Technology Transfer, and an MBA in Rome (Italy-1995) on finance and M&A. PhD in Early-stage finance for innovation at the University of Perugia-Italy.

In the wider international arena, Andrea also gained outstanding reputation from his professional experience in the field of finance, technology and innovation, after working in the corporate finance operations of Telecom Italia in the 1990s, in technology investment banking at Nomura and in private equity at CDC Capital Partners in the 2000s. He is an approved person by SFA (Securities & Financial Derivatives Representative - now FCA, Financial Conduct Authority), which is the financial regulatory body in the United Kingdom. He is the author of articles, books and screenplay about technology.

Paola Carrea in UnipolGruppo from march the 1st 2016, is:

General Manager in AlfaEvolution Technology (Unipol Gruppo)
- After several years in Centro Ricerche Fiat working on Preventive Safety and Connectivity, in 2008, to improve Magneti Marelli opportunities in developing intelligent systems and solutions that contribute to the mobility evolution a dedicated BL was launched within Magneti Marelli focused on Telematics. Paola was nominated responsible, closer to marketing (trade and strategic) and exploitation, not only R&D focus.
- In 2011 she was nominated CEO of CRP (focus on electronics and Lighting Technologies) with the aim to maximize technologies and competencies cross fertilization and transfer inside and outside Magneti Marelli sectors.
- She managed partnership and relation with relevant services providers and Telco Operators WW, she worked with several car makers to introduce within the vehicle connectivity according new legislation as well as insurance Telematics in Italy, eCall and eToll in EU, ERAGlonass in Russia, Denatran Law in Brazil.
- She won for her Company the first European tender for eToll together with Società Autostrade. She managed the Fiat/Chrysler tender for services and telematic box and the GM tender in Russia. Others example are PSA; BMW.
- She launched a dedicated Telematics team in MM After Market following the development of a new best in class AM telematics Solutions according to requirements from very important customers as well as Octotelematics, Allianz, Targa Drive, Astrata, Masternaut, Società Autostrade.
- In 2012 she was nominated National member of MEAG in Bruxelles (to exploit Galileo and Glonass services opportunities).
- In 2013 Clepa involves her with eCall expert Group

In Unipol Gruppo she has the aim to grow competencies and know-how on technologies and services to maintain Group competitiveness on Insurance Telematics on three relevant sectors: Motor (Car, Truck, Two wheels), Home and Health/Wellness.

Marco Gilli is Professor of Electrical Engineering at the Politecnico di Torino. From May 2002 to September 2003 he was Deputy Dean of the First Faculty of Engineering at Politecnico and from October 2003 to September 2005 he was Vice Dean of the same Faculty (responsible for the Graduate School). From October 2005 to February 2012 he served as Deputy Rector (responsible for Academic Affairs) and on the 21st of February 2012 he was elected Rector of the Politecnico di Torino. On March 2012 he was appointed as President of CESAER (Conference of European Schools for Advanced Engineering Education and Research).

His research activity is mainly focused in the field of nonlinear circuits and systems, cellular neural/nonlinear networks, nonlinear network theory and applications and partially in the field of electromagnetic theory. He is co-author of two papers that received the Best Paper Award in 1994 and 2004 from the International Journal of Circuit Theory and Applications. He is also author or coauthor of more than 70 international journal papers and more than 100 international conference contributions. In 1998 Marco Gilli won the Ravani prize, awarded by the Academy of Science of Turin, for contributions to Physics and in particular to Electrical Engineering.

Since January 2005, Marco Gilli is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). From 1999 to 2003 Marco Gilli was Associate Editor of the IEEE, Transactions on Circuits and Systems: part I. He was appointed as "Distinguished Lecturer" of the IEEE Circuits and Systems (CAS) Society (2002-2003), while in January 2006 he was appointed as Editor in Chief of the International Journal of Circuit Theory and Applications. Since 2010 he is a member of the Editorial Board of the "International Journal of Bifurcations and Chaos.". He was elected as member of the Board of Governors of the IEEE Circuits and Systems (CAS) Society, (2006-2008). Marco Gilli is also a member of the IEEE-CAS Technical Committee on “Cellular neural networks and array computing” (Chair from 2007 to 2009) and of the IEEE-CAS Technical Committee on “Nonlinear circuits and systems.” He is currently the Chair of the CAS Chapter of the IEEE North Italy Section. From 2005 to 2009 Marco Gilli was the President of the “Italian Society of Chaos and Complexity.” From 2007 to 2010 he also was the President of the "Microsoft Innovation Center" (a research and innovation center, located in Torino, and participated by Microsoft and the Politecnico di Torino). He is also a member of the Board of Governors of the "Human Genetic Foundation" (a research center, participated by the University of Torino, the Politecnico di Torino and the "Compagnia di San Paolo," a Bank Foundation).

Since December 2016 he is a member of the Board of Directors of the Links Foundation- Leading Innovation & Knowledge for Society (founded by Compagnia di San Paolo and Politecnico di Torino) and a member of the Scientific Committee of ENEL Centro Studi Foundation.
